Berlin Mixtapes: Afterhour Culture with Sabrina Mue

Thomas Schumacher

We are back this month for another big one and this Friday we have invited two of Berlin's most recognised underground stars Lars Moston & Sabrina Mue.

The music couple join us for a couple of days in Brighton before headlining at the Green Door Store. It's also Sabrina's first time in the UK so let's make them both feel super welcome.

Sabrina was born amongst Berlin's Club and Afterhour culture and has for the last 4 years added her own silky grooves to Berlin's dancefloors, combining bass driven sounds and nocturnal rhythms to Berliners everywhere. In 2014 Sabrina released a club classic on world renowned Berlin label Katermukke 'Breakaway' and since then has been creating and releasing more golden nuggets with her partner in crime Lars Moston. Global artists such as Claptone and many others have since been sharing and featuring her music in their radio shows and podcasts. Sabrina also publishes for well-known Berlin label 'Bar 25 Music' right in the heart of the city and also released another hit with Kattermukke, along with Lars earlier this year that smashed through various electronic music charts called 'This Is How'. Not only that, Sabrina has also put together our next Berlin Mixtapes Episode 026, which you can all enjoy as of 25.11.2018 here.

On whichever dancefloor Sabrina may be, she will express far more than just music but furthermore transmit her own feelings laced with skilfully driven sounds that quenches our thirst to groove whether the party is in the day or the night. Here's what we chewed the fat over.

Hi Sabrina, how are you and what have you been up to this week?

I´m doing really great, thank you. At the moment I'm spending a lot of time creating a audio visual art project at a Uni in Berlin!

I believe this is your first time in the UK and are staying for a few days extra, what have you got planned?

I think going with the flow is a good concept. I have one ritual when I'm traveling, visiting some second hand stores and looking for a fancy piece of clothing, but it´s not my focus. I hear that Brighton is beautiful, so I want to check it out.

Is there anything typically 'British' that you are looking forward to trying?

Oh yes, beans on toast, Sunday roast and for sure a good cup of tea.

Henning Schmitz

Do you think you'll squeeze in a bit of clubbing whilst you're in London?
