Exciting New Releases from Poker Flat

Stil vor Talent - Alexanderplatz

Poker Flat have some exciting new releases for us over the next few weeks with the label featuring some serious top talent for our ears to enjoy. Poker Flat needs few introductions, originally founded by head honcho Steve Bug back in 1998 and has been a mainstay for many huge releases over the years. With the label turning 20 next year and a favourite in the Berlin office, it makes sense to let all you crazy Kinder know what's in their programme between now and November.

Up first, and out today is Markus Homm's 'Don't Let Go' EP - A luscious 3 Track House release that will get some serious airtime around the Berlin studio as well as our upcoming nights and radio shows. 'Don't Let Go', gives you a scrumptious silky smooth house number with 'Dance With Me' giving us more of the same. 'Feel it' goes down a more deeper techie route but equally as groovin' and slick as the previous two tracks.

Markus Homm has already clocked up a seriously impressive run of releases over the last decade, and is a star that seems set to continue to rise. Born in Romania, and now living in Nurenberg, Homm is widely renowned for his perfectly crafted tech house bombs, released on labels such as Highgrade, Bondage and Bedrock. His first appearance on Poker Flat Recordings sees the acclaimed DJ and producer in fine form. All round this gets a huge thumbs up from us, so go and grab it now.

Later this month we can also expect another release by Marco Resmann. Marcus, a native Berliner, (also one half of Luna City Express) returns to Poker Flat Recordings with the 'Flux EP'.

Something of a legend in the Berlin party scene since the 1990s, Resmann has continued to build on his reputation with ever impressive releases throughout his career, primarily as a part of his own Upon. You imprint. Here, he dives into his deep bag of tricks and produces a three tracker of finely honed, emotional house music. Some of our crew saw him recently back in August on our latest visit to the German capital at Watergate, and only reported great things. We're looking forward to this one when it hits stores on 29.09.

What else is coming up? Another release we are very excited for is one by label owner and legend Steve Bug on 20th October. The Poker Flat label boss teams up with Langenberg for an excellent two track EP. Langenberg has released an unfathomable number of dance floor fillers under various monikers on labels such as Drumpoet Community, Mule, Ovum or Styrax Leaves - and recently released his debut album 'Central Heated House' on Dessous.

Langenberg is also one half of the project Ribn. The EP 'Chord Cluster' has summer anthem written all over it - deep yet euphoric, spacey yet danceable, and ultimately a deeply emotive piece of house music that will bring smiles to faces all year.

The rhythm track is tight yet remains loose and funky, while the pads and synths dip into just the right amount of acid to keep the ravers lost in the moment. 'The Teaze' treads similar ground - inquisitive pulses lead the arrangement, while a Chicago-influenced groove brings a shuffle to proceedings - the joy in the track is evident - it's clear the guys were having a lot of fun in the studio. October here we come!

All in all, we are excited about Poker Flat, a label that gets lots of air time from us across all of our events and radio shows. We have managed to play plenty of tracks at our recent Berlin Beach Kollektiv parties, in particular our terrace anthem 'Your Words Keep Me Safe' by Tim Engelhardt, which has worked a treat and ensured lots of happy vibes on the beach.
