Dario D'Attis has been releasing music since 1999, which has seen him become a regular DJ on the Swiss underground club scene for many years. However, Dario has attracted the attention of global audiences with the likes of Marco Carola, Åme and Dixon supporting his music.
Releases on Hive Audio, Noir Music, Poker Flat Recordings, Strictly Rhythm and Defected Records have catapulted Dario into the spotlight, with tracks like “The Good Old Days” being a firm Ibiza anthem. in 2019 his remix of Soul Vision “Don’t Stop” further made an impact in clubs around the world.
Dario often has a busy international touring schedule including dates at Watergate, Ministry of Sound, Nordsten, La Rocca, Montreaux Jazz Festival and Defected Festival in Croatia.
Alongside this growing international rise, Dario has been heavily involved with Hive Audio; leading to a residency at the legendary Zurich nightclub, HIVE.
Dario continues to push the envelope further on his productions, with original releases and remixes lined up on several high profile labels including Berlin label Poker Flat at the end of last year as well as a touring diary that sees Dario play across Europe and North America.
Hi Dario, how are you and what have you been up to this week?
Hello guys, nice to meet you. I've been better... I just came back home from a little tour and I got the flu. But I’m feeling better already. So let’s rock 2024!
You have been producing for quite some time now with a great catalogue of releases behind you. Are there any standout tracks that hold special memories for you?
Definitely yes, there are a number of that tracks mean so much to me. I can say that they make me proud and it’s a pleasure for me to play them. One track is my rework of Kings of Tomorrow feat. Julie Mc Knight - Finally
You also had a new release out recently on Poker Flat remixing Kotelett. Tell us more about that.
When Steve (Bug) came to me originally with the release I was super happy to be asked. However, I wasn't too happy with the first results of the remix, so initially I didn't deliver the remix.
I tend to try various things but I didn't quite get it right in my opinion. I asked Steve for a time out and I came back with the new demo 6 months later.
What else can you tell us about future releases, anything exciting in the pipeline?
There is a new collaboration with Mr V and a new song with Sofiya Nzau from Kenya in the pipeline.
Where was your first gig and how did it go?
It was a little bar in Schaffhausen called - Kaktus. I loved every second of this DJ gig. I still talk about this residency fondly.
You are also, after reading your biography, very much engrained in Switzerland's nightlife. For any newbies wanting to discover Switzerland as an electronic music destination where do you think they should check out?
I would say that Hive Club and Klaus Club in Zurich are very good destinations for electronic music.
Which other DJs or producers are you liking right now?
So many! I like Luke Solomon, Mihai Popoviciu, Cristina Lazio, Harry Romero and many more.
What are your go-to labels?
Of course Pokerflat , Crosstown Rebels, Nu Groove, Hive Audio just to name a few.
