Whilst we like to hop around at our events and guest mixes across the different electronic musical genres, we do often get requests for some hard techno. Therefore we are super excited to feature an artist that is smashing it (literally) across Berlin right now.
SaltySis is a Berlin-born DJ and music producer who is cutting the gap between Hard dance, Neo rave, Schranz, Hard Techno, Hardstyle and Hard Trance. She’s boiling up the spiciest soup with her fast paced energetic yet very hard and euphoric sets that leave everyone craving for more with being one of the most popular streamed sets on HÖR.
Her artistic upbringing as being a former Waldorf school student with a passion for music paved the way for her becoming one of Berlin’s top techno artists. From years of music and singing lessons, she found her way through various genres, learning how to DJ and produce her own electronic music visions. By serving her own vocals she adds the perfect seasoning to her productions and has already released on H33 Records, Sachsentrance and Whalien.
She already played for Blackworks, Dystopia, Technotrain and many more big Events in Germany and Europe.
Before that, her first ever self released song engaged such a great following in the Australian community that she was invited for her first overseas tour there.
She is constantly working on creating her visions into reality. So buckle up and let’s get salty!
Hi SaltySis, how are you and what have you been up to this week? I‘ am good, I have been concentrating on my new track release, which came out on July 4th and focusing on my next projects.
How did you first get into electronic music?
Many steps were involved but I have been a raver since my teenage years and I was in the Club one night and was thinking: I will absolutely do everything from now on to learn it myself, I want to create, I wanna be that person. And I just did.
Where was your first gig and how did it go?
My first gig was at Void Club, a B2B. It went well but I didn’t sleep for 2 weeks and was shaking the whole time due to being so nervous.
Where do you like to hang out most in Berlin?
At Home haha I love my home and have my studio at Home. But of course when I see friends, I like districts like Neukölln or Friedrichshain.
You have a unique DJ name, are you really that salty in real life or actually super nice?
I am actually mostly super nice but of course I can have a salty side as well haha. I am also more on the shy side haha.
Your current style is somewhere between Hard dance, Neo rave, Schranz, Hardtechno, Hardstyle and Hardtrance. Was this always what you loved or was there a progression to those genres from other styles?
I was starting with hard, then I was more in the Trance Bubble and was producing such, but now I am fully involved in Hardtechno again and I just love it and will probably never switch. I just realized that I am getting harder and harder.
You have had a few releases under your belt now. Is there a standout track for you that has special meaning?
Well I like my recent harder productions, but there was one Trance Track called Midnight Suicide, which is a very very deep track, close to my heart and was created in a very deep place.
What else can you tell us about your future releases, anything exciting in the pipeline?
You can buy my latest track, whcih was just released ,,Eating Your Plea“. It's still not as hard as I want but it's getting there. I am very proud of this one. I'm working on other projects at the moment too.
What are some of your go-to labels?
Whalien is a very good label for a friend of mine. They accomplished to be one of the most successful hard techno labels in only a few years.
