Mother Recordings, BERLIN - THE LABEL 2012, in the heart of Berlin, at the foot of Kreuzberg, MOTHER RECORDINGS was founded. A record label full of warmth, home to artists whose hearts beat for the true House music, full of passion and a love for the groove. Their ethos? A label should be more than the name on a cover. That is why the same sweat and lifeblood they leave in the clubs of Berlin, Europe, and the rest of the world is now fueling MOTHER RECORDINGS. MOTHER RECORDINGS has for the last 4 years been a constant source of fresh, exciting and ever-evolving Deep-, Tech House dance floor delights. The secret to their success can be somewhat linked to their ability to hold regard to the 3 key principles that they believe in when it comes to producing great contemporary House music; Music to make you dance, music to make you smile, and music that unites. It is that third principle more than any which is why they currently are a label that can boost the following achievements over the last 12 months: - BEATPORT BREAKTHROUGH LABEL 2015 - BEATPORT Deep House #3, BEATPORT Overall #14 in 2016 - DEEJAY.DE - HOUSE, VINYL BUZZ CHART #1 SOUNDSPACE – Five record labels you need to know about!!! What 2017 and beyond holds for these guys is very much in their hands, a clichéd term but at the moment, the world really does ‘seem to be their oyster.’ One thing is true, this label really is one to keep you need to keep on eye on!! MOTHER RECORDINGS, love that lasts forever!!!
Line-up: Nhan Solo - (Mother, OFF Recordings) Berlin based DJ/Producer and label owner Nhan Solo set off on his mission for dominance of the Deep House music scene in 2012, and in the 4 years that have followed, his enterprise Mother Recordings has provided the perfect haven for him and like-minded musicians to showcase their talents. It's a healthy bunch of friends, artists and creative heads. Their individual life stories and experiences help to shape a very personal vision of contemporary House music, that received instant positive feedback from the first release. An artist who’s talent, vision, and enthusiasm for everything dance related is instantly recognisable upon introduction. Nhan’s personality is infectious and it is no surprise that such esteemed artists as Daniel Dexter,Audiojack, Kevin Knapp, PurpleDiscoMachine or The Revenge were instantly keen to work with his label from the moment it came about. His personal continuous musical output can or will be found on labels such as Andre Crom´s OFF Recordings, Solomon´s 2DIY4 and of course Mother Recordings. His tracks also have been remixed by respectable members of the scene like Monkey Safari, Ian Pooley, Oliver Dollar, Martin Dawson, Kiki, Spencer Parker, Adriatique - just to name a few. His DJ career took off in a big way in 2013 with European gigs with almost weekly occurrence and sold out South American tours in Brazil, Columbia, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Panama, El Salvador on the agenda. His production talent was also beginning to shine through on a more recognisable scale from a Beatport prospective. 3 Top 10 Deep House tracks ‘Easy’, ‘Friends’ and ‘Tell You’ drawing wide acclaim from everybody within earshot, with high profile support from such top talent as Solomun, Claptone, Soul Clap, Dyed Soundorom, Maya Jane Coles, Adana Twins, Tensnake and more… 2015 was when the Mother imprint really started reaching to the masses, and huge releases by artists such as Superlover (Love Machine), Martin Waslewski (Gerd), Mat.Joe (Swipe The Card) amongst others really made people in the industry start to get a sense of the close family roots that this label endlessly stood for. A ‘mother´s touch’ of all things joy, warm and sincere was what real dance music followers craved and Mother massively represented. 2016 has been a year where Mother have found the Top 10 with every Ep that they have released. With 6 Eps in the Top 100 at one time, it’s clear that this power label is here for the long-term! To date they already have 3 Beatport Deep House #1 hits from Mat.Joe, David Keno and Superlover, were also Beatport Breakthrough Label for 2015. A whole host of Showcases have been huge successes in places such as London, Barcelona (Sonar), Berlin, Zurich, Montanita, and Amsterdam (ADE) and Playa Del Carmen (BPM) soon to follow.
Superlover [Mother, Suara] With a steady stream of releases that have ruled house dancefloors globally. Superlover has swiftly established a solid reputation for creating emotional and energetic tunes translating disco and funk into modern house music. Born and raised in Berlin, after the fall of the Wall he embraced the budding techno culture that shaped Germany in the 1990s. His early productions mirrored the influences of the raw and industrial techno sound. Superlover’s sonic trademark is deeply embedded in house music and its sub-genres. He draws his influences from the likes of DJ Sneak, Ian Pooley, and later Daft Punk and their associated artists like Alan Braxe, Cassius, Fred Falke, and Etienne de Crecy. As part of the Mother Recordings family, he gave us the much-acclaimed “Steam” in 2014. The momentum was sustained by his driving rework of “Stronger” by German house music institution Boris Dlugosch. At the start of 2015, Superlover’s track “Love Me” ruled many house dancefloors globally, and its success was a precursor of what would come later that year. His summer 2015 anthem “Love Machine” jumped straight to the top of the Deep House charts, sustaining its ranking for over a month in the top 3. With his follow-up releases “Circus EP” and “Talking Machine EP” on renowned label Suara, his success reached new heights with “Talking Machine” peaking at #1 on Beatport’s TechHouse charts and #2 overall in 2016. Superlover is also in high demand as a talented remixer, for artists including Claptone, Tube & Berger, and the legendary Roland Clark. 2017 has started with a bang and seen Superlover’s latest record “Heart Drive” on Mother Recordings hit the House charts on Beatport at #2. Meanwhile, he continues to get the dancefloors grooving with his infectious pumping energy in live performances, driving the signature Superlover sound into the hearts of house lovers worldwide.
Nolan (Timo Garcia) - (Mother, Kittball, Get Physcial, Connaisseur) Straddling House and Disco with a unique twist and an eye for the underground NOLAN is making serious waves right now, with key releases on Get Physical Music, Kittball Records, OFF Recordings, Gruuv & Connaisseur Recordings. His collaboration with legendary actor Idris Elba caused quite a stir with it's no nonsense anti EDM stance. The vinyl release of which, with its analog heavy Of Norway remix featured as the opening track on John Digweed's Transitions radio show (506) which then led to the NOLAN guest mix on show 511. NOLAN's debut release 'Thief' which was snapped up by New York'sNurvous Records, making its way into the discerning boxes of Wolf+Lamb, Droog and Maceo Plex, in addition to being picked up for remix by Huxley. His follow up EP was released on vinyl by the exquisite Connaisseur Recordings, with a bumping Paradise Garage-inspired disco track alongside a stunning revision of an MK classic. Followed by a sizzling hot vinyl EP on Audiojack's GRUUV imprint with remixes courtesy of John Tejada and Poker Flat's Kyodai. Then came 'Go Slow' with it's choice remixes from Miguel Puente & a young Finnebassen who's remix clocked almost 5 million views (possibly OFF Recordings' most popular release on YouTube). More recently his collaborations with Soul songstress Rachel Adedeji created a huge buzz amongst the DJ community featuring remixes from DJ T, Climbers. Sharam Jey & ATFC. Which was followed by a slew of releases on Low Steppa's Simma Black, ALiVE Recordings, King Street, Dear Deer Records & a vinyl release on Sex Panda White with remixes from Kevin Over (Noir), Telonius (Gomma) + Matt Fear & Creature. But it's NOLAN's collaboration with Amber Jolene, which spent an unprecedented 256 days in the Beatport NuDisco charts (100 days of which in the top 10 itself) which is proving hard to beat. The sublime remix by Danish rising star KANT resonated around Ibiza island and now features on Toolroom Ibiza 2014 CD, Pure Salinas, Coco Beach, Armada Sunset + Ministry Of Sound Chilled House Ibiza 2014 compilation CDs and has also now hit the over 8.5 million views on YouTube! Not one to rest on his laurels Nolan's latest collaboration with the inimitable Forrest has just dropped on Kittball Records featuring remixes from Hot Creations duo Raumakustik and label boss P.A.C.O.
