Renato Cohen Releases Tech Funk Bomb On Kling Klong

Renato Cohen - Kling Klong Records

Renato Cohen's new release has certainly got us grooving in the Berlin-Brighton office. The Brazilian techno producer returns on Berlin and Augsburg label Kling Klong with a dancefloor builder that chugs along nicely and has the ability to stop the floor dead in its tracks before releasing it to continue for more hip swaying and foot tapping grooves. The lead track 'Sauna' is certainly one we envisage hearing more of this summer.

The EP has already had some great support from the likes of Monika Kruse, Timo Maas, Mathias Kaden, ANNA, Martin Landsky, Maceo Plex, Groove Armada, Marco Resmann, Pan Pot and many more.

We first became aware of Renato's talents back in 2013 when he released an absolute dancefloor weapon on Dutch label 100% Pure called 'Suddenly Funk'. Another Tech infused House track that sported a massive build up and drop at the start, followed up with a Funk bassline. 5 years on and it still works and it sometimes makes an appearance in our sets depending on the venue. A definitive track for all DJs to have in their arsenal.

Renato Cohen was born and raised in Sao Paulo and began his career as a DJ and music producer in 1996. In 2002, he became world famous with the release of the song "Pontapé" on Carl Cox's Intec label. He has performed at many festivals around the world, such as Wire (Japan), Dance Valley (Holland), I Love Techno (Belgium), Nature One and Love Parade (Germany), Monegros (Spain) and clubs like Fabric (London), Berghain (Berlin) and Womb (Tokyo) as well as many others.
